Reyes Vasquez Calderon was born in 1906, married José Betancourt Ortíz in 1924. José was rarely at the farm, and left Reyes to work and managed her farm while raising 12 children in a small home in the mountains of Puerto Rico.
The farmland, 7 and 5 acres, was gifted to her from her father Castro Luis Calderon.

Dominique Betancourt
I'm Dominique Betancourt, grand-daughter of Abuela Reyes and daughter to Elias Betancourt. I've lived in Chicago for most of my adult life, along with my husband Paul and two children.
I have worked in corporate space for 15 years in sales, marketing, product development, corporate innovation and more. During the 2020 pandemic, I left the corporate world to focus on my family and community where I fell in love with doing something on my own and for my family.
I am excited to embark on this adventure to leverage my skills, passion and energy to bring this project to life.
